The Space

The New Orleans Board Of Trade was founded in 1880, and trading continued on the floor until the mid-1960s. Centered on the eastern wall of the building are three clocks, which have been in place since the building was erected, giving the times in New Orleans, New York & Rio de Janeiro, which were the major players in the Green Coffee Trading. Additionally, some chalkboards were used to notate the commodities which are still in place and can be used to create unique messages for social events and marketing information for corporate events.

For the past 20+ years, Pigéon Catering & Events has been the exclusive caterer at the New Orleans Board of Trade. Although Pigéon has had exclusivity at the Board of Trade, they are the preferred caterer in about 20 other venues throughout the city. As of May 1, 2023, the Board of Trade will undergo a complete renovation and will not be online until well into 2023 or early 2024.
